What are telehealth services? Are they right for me?

Telehealth services are when both the client and clinician are in different locations. (Isn’t technology cool?) We use a HIPAA compliant platform to conduct telehealth sessions, so rest assured—your information is secure!

Telehealth has been researched AND shown to be just as effective as in person counseling. However, that said, there are some cases where telehealth services are not appropriate, which we would discuss during the initial consultation and make the final determination from there about if it’s 'right for you’.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where should I be for my appointment?

I ask that you are in a private room/location where you will not be disturbed. You can’t be driving or a passenger during your appointment. Additionally, please dock whatever you device you are using so that both you and your device are stationary.

What is EMDR?

EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, which is one of the very effective evidence based therapies for the treatment of trauma. This can be completed via telehealth services! If you are interested in EMDR, please let me know and we can discuss if EMDR would be appropriate and/or helpful for you.

What about if I am on vacation?

Telehealth services are considered to occur at the location of the client at the time of the service. Since I am currently only licensed in the states of Ohio and South Carolina, if you leave the state for vacation/work, etc., we cannot have any appointments until you return.

Do you treat children?

I do not. At this time, we treat adults only, ages 19 and up.
